Are some people born more intelligent than others

What determines how intelligent someone is? are we all born with the same level of intelligence? or do some people have more potential?

Intelligence is a very vague term. If you mean academic intelligence or high IQ then I believe that it's not something they are born with but rather a quality they acquire during early childhood influenced by their environment, the way they see life, how much curiosity do they develop and a lot of other things...

Genetics does play a factor in intelligence. However, it is not the only determinant. Environment, income, parenting styles, etc. are just some of the factors that can shape intelligence. So you can be born to have a great potential for intelligence but if it's not nurtured because, for example, you are poor and your parents don't interact with you as a baby and don't take part in stimulating your development, then your level of intelligence can suffer.

Yes, some people are born with more intellectual intelligence than others - If you want an extreme answer, just think about those born with learning difficulties when they have a sibling in advanced placement classes: same upbringing, differing levels of intelligence.

However, it should be noted that intellectual intelligence is not the only form of intelligence. I for one, know I will never be as physically, emotionally or inter-personally intelligent as most of my peers, but I'm above average intra-personally and musically.

I've generally observed that some people are just born better at some areas, and I think it is a massive flaw in our society that we value only very few of these different areas of skills.
