thanks for Helping guys!!-As you go down the degrees of diversity you go from broad to more specific. As you start from the top, you can include large numbers of different organisms and as you go down you exclude others till you get closer and closer related to the species your trying to identify.Hope this helps!......
Do you Think you can help answer this bio question question? any input would be really appreciated.PLEASE HELP?

1.Describe what happens to the degree of diversity as you go down the classification structure developed by Carolus Linnaeus. Start with the Kingdom level and work down to the Species level.
Kingdom
Phylum
Class
Order
Family
Genus
Species
i need to define each stage clearly.
anything will help ... im swamped for time

thanks for Helping guys!!

As you go down the degrees of diversity you go from broad to more specific. If we take humans for example and classify them you will see with each step we get more specific still we get to species:

Kingdom- Animalia - includes all animals exuding plants
Phylum- Chrodata -includes all animals with a vertebrae or spine
Class- Mammalia -includes all mammals exuding lizards for example
Order- Primates -includes all primates such as monkeys and apes
Family- Hominidae - inclues hominids which are kinda human like but not really
Genus- Homo - includes species closely related to humans
Species- Homo Sapien - can only include one organism which is Humans

As you start from the top, you can include large numbers of different organisms and as you go down you exclude others till you get closer and closer related to the species your trying to identify.

Hope this helps!

Highest level (kingdom)- Most inclusive (includes the most amounts of organisms)

Lowest level (species)- Most exclusive, or least inclusive (includes the least amounts of organisms)

So basically as you go down the list each level becomes less inclusive and thus LESS DIVERSE, as the classifications become more specific.

Good luck! Hope I could help :)
