LIMB DEVELOPMENT: AER, ZPA, shh, etc.Whether a tetrapod is a human, mouse,......
PAX-6
Pax-6 is the master control gene for eye development in animals as different as humans, mice, squid, & fruit flies. The mouse Pax6 gene can be spliced in fruit flies and it works!
LIMB DEVELOPMENT: AER, ZPA, shh, etc.
Whether a tetrapod is a human, mouse, chicken, or whatever, the same general process occurs during limb development (an AER is formed that reciprocally induces the underlying mesoderm, a ZPA is formed which produces shh, retinoic acid has the same effect, the 5' Hox genes play a role in patterning the limbs, etc.).
The data and research is there if you look for it, but I'll just give you the general gist.
Given morphological similarities along with genetics we're able to tell that Humans are very closely related to other primates and more so related to apes than any other living species on earth. This can be observed by the fact that the human genome and the chimp genome are about 98% similar, as well as in such things like the dental formula (for example, both chimps and humans have 4 incisors while other mammals like raccoons have 6). This suggest that human are related to primates but not that we evolved from them. The correct thing to say is that primates and humans both had a common ancestor. That common ancestor probably produced numerous species over generations, some of which would evolve to eventually become modern man, the others which evolved to be exant primates. The Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection is a scientific principle that can be supported with large amounts of collected data about the evolution of species using fossil records and can be observed and repeated.
Creation is not "evidence" in the scientific sense in that there's little to no observable fossils, data, or records that suggest a creation event. However, to many, religious texts and faith are evidence enough for creation.
It really comes down to which you trust more: science or faith
