Is the universe made up of different dimensions?......

Is the universe made up of different dimensions?

-------------------------------------------------------

answers:
Andy C say: Probably not the way that we understand dimensions.

The universe is not made up of dimensions, but rather exists in them.
-
roberto say: the furthest we can see is about 13B light years distance, that light is called the universe's earliest lights,,just NOW reaching our telescopes,
what may be beyond that? we have no way of knowing
-
Bulldog redux say: The universe has at least four dimensions, but it may have up to ten dimensions. String theory, or M-theory, has some success in reconciling the theory of gravitation with quantum mechanics, but those theories necessarily posit the existence of extra dimensions.
-
MysteryGuy say: Well 4 that we know of. Space has 3 and time is the other one.
We can have smaller dimension which we don't know of as they are unnoticeable to us.
-
hoarseman say: The universe has 4 dimensions -- all the additional ones proposed look suspiciously like part of the calculus used to quantify our observations and theories.
-
bubby say: Four if you include time as a dimension..
-
ReductioAdAstronomicus say: Yes, three to be precise.
-
Paula say: No.
The universe only has just 3 dimensions of space and 1 dimension of time.

Other dimensions have been proposed, but no evidence of other dimensions actually exists.
-
Alexander say: Four, at least, probably more.
-
Jeffrey K say: How do you define the word 'dimension"?
Dimension means direction. The universe has 3 space directions and 1 time direction.
-
Andy C say: Probably not the way that we understand dimensions.

The universe is not made up of dimensions, but rather exists in them.
-
CarolOklaNola say: Yes. Possibly as many as 11, maybe more, but there HAS to be at least ONE temporal dimension. A static stationary universe makes no "sense". It isn't logical. Who or what created a static universe?

Hypothetically, you can have as many dimensions as you want. That is WHY calculus 3 is co- or prerequisite course for linear algebra or tensor and matrix math and quantum mechanics and should be for physical chemistry.

Different scales of size: quark, subatomic, atomic, microscopic (viruses bacteria, microorganisms, macroscale human sized to cosmic scales of size, the ENTIRE Universe, which is still expanding.

Bret say: I personally do not believe it. Unless you say look at tiny organisms like bacteria and say they are 2d and we are 3d...I also do not believe in time travel. It is something that was thought of through the speed of light (think of you are going as fast as light it will look like everything is standing still, faster and look backward it will only "appear" in the past") but not time travel in the end, one of those things just like faster then sound before it was achieved...
