Starrysky say: Others say the "big ones that cause harm have been tracked". Partly true. NOT ALL the big ones. Maybe over 90%, statistics and distribution patterns indicate. But still some are unknown. One and one only with Earth as an intersection point on its orbit is all that is needed. And a few not very small ones have been zooming quite close while never having been seen ever before.
Comets come out of very deep space (Oort Cloud) with irregularity and unexpected orbits and very little warning time.
Then there is the new class--interstellar visitors like `Oumaumau last year. Was spotted on its way out. Way way too late to do anything about moving it away from us. And it was quite unusual in shape, motion, and content. Who knows what else might "visit" us? I don't.

Nyx say: Not anytime soon (as in a couple of centuries). Nearly all the really big ones that could do real harm have already been eliminated.
And actually, it's new comets coming in from the Oort cloud, or Kuiper belt that would be the most worrisome.
