So I'm afraid of an asteroid hitting earth what do I do?

Of course, Mars is closer to the asteroid belt, so higher chance of an impact there.
You should worry about comets--no long term prediction, show up suddenly, many out there, little warning, and the center of a comet can be just as or more destructive than an asteroid.
