What would be the possibilities and consequences of our producing artificial, predictable wormholes through space-time?

answers:
The_Doc_Man say: First, unlikely because of the implied energy issues. However, ...
Good stuff: Instantaneous travel from point A to point B
Bad stuff: Build a wormhole, drop a nuke through it, close the wormhole. The victims will never see it coming and it would untraceable.

Jeffrey K say: First, there is no way to make a wormhole. No theory even guesses at how to do it.
Second, if a wormhole occurred in nature, it would collapse in a second. There is no way to hold it open.

Acetek say: instant movement over vast distances
-
Ronald 7 say: The Daleks would stop you
-
cosmo say: That would violate causality. The laws of physics seem to be built around the idea of no causal violations.

Bill-M say: Possibilities:; Zero to None -- Pure Science Fiction.
-
say: wormholes are science fiction like multiverses

John say: Since they don't exist there are no possibilities. If the theoretical were found to be possible, likely it would require the entire energy of our sun to accomplish such a thing. So there's that. Archimedes said "Give me a lever, etc." but the problem is where to put the fulcrum, in deep space.
