does time really exist?
its just something scientists created based on the movement of planets and stars, just a theory really

answers:
say: Time is how we measure the passing of events. Even if we did not measure the passing of events, there would still be a sequence that would occur. Hence, time would exist whether we recognize it or not.
-
Mike say: It is strictly a human thing inveted by humans
-
red2queen say: No it's not tangible. It exists as a concept to be believed in as many other things are.
-
Ronald 7 say: Well
We have always counted on it
-
nineteenthly say: The passage of time is part of phenomenology and therefore must exist, although it may be entirely subjective. In this respect it differs from space, which can be rationally doubted.
-
Jeffrey K say: Einstein discovered that time runs slower for moving frames of reference, but nobody expected that. Nobody made that up. So time must have some reality in nature. It isn't all a manmade concept.
-
Raymond say: Time existed well before Earth.
Time prevents everything from happening all at once.
Space exists so that it does not all happen to you.
Many observed events would be impossible to explain without time. For example, the idea that light photons each have a wavelength. Or that certain atoms will see their electrons absorb the energy from very specific wavelength photons, while ignoring all the others.
Without time, there would be no period of "before recombination" versus "after recombination", since it took time for the expansion of space to cause the cooling of the universe's energy density.
It is our measurement of time that is invented.
The same as "kilometre" or "mile" do not exist in nature.
Distance does exist (otherwise everything would be piled up one on top of the other) even when there is no one there to measure it.
-
Starrysky say: Yes. While the system of measuring (seconds, etc) are a creation of humans. time existed before any humans. And it will continue to exist after all humans are gone.
Space-time is the structure of the universe. Can only have existence in our universe if there is both space and time. Before the Big Bang, there was no space, only an unknown length of time. After, there was both as a unit. Space expanded, time continued.
-
Pearl L say: i think so, the whole world revolves around it
-
canadacraig say: But isn't everything that exists created?
-
Adullah M say: Time does exist if not, then there would be no energy, mass and space .Since energy mass and space melted themselves in to time and these four entities can not exist with out one another, since its existed at the started of the big bang and continue up till now.
-
busterwasmycat say: there is something that we perceive as time. whether it is exactly "time" as we think of time, well, that is open to discussion. It really exists in the practical sense. You must obey its imposition.
-
Tempting Apple say: Yes.
Time exists.
We have a limited time to live.
-
xxxx say: Time is just a concept for saying when anything occurs in relationship to when something else occurred. For example you say that X occurred before Y did. Because there are all sorts of events happening, the way we say when all these things occurred would be in relationship to when the sun was in such and such a place in the sky. You don't have to use the sun; I think nowadays they use an atomic clock, which I don't know how it works. But time is just something which shows when something occurred in relation to when something else occurred. Time is a dimension, not a thing.
-
roberto say: all on earth are subject to it,it is also relative to earth gravity field
it is a property of creation.
-
A say: It's not a creation but an observation of our present being.
-
Nyx say: And apparently you don't know what a theory really means, and why they are so important.

-
Wally say: That is why the scientists refer to the space/time continuum. They are two sides of the coin. You only have TIME as a way to measure movement of an object through space. You only have space if there is movement through it.
-
rick29148 say: it's measurement is just a universal agreement .....................
-
Barry say: Time is a measurement. The same as distance and mass. So no it does not exist per se.
-
Ben say: Of course it does, and it is related to earth rotating around the sun and by itself.
-
Rain say: Yes, time exists.
-
say: Not in the physical sense such that we can create a time machine and go back in time. Time and dates are just a benchmarking system created by mankind. Within the realm of the universe time and days don't really exist.
If we zoom out and look at the universe as a whole, it's always the same day when you think about it. The sun is always shining. It's just shining on a different part of the Earth at any given time.
-
jun say: Time may not exactly exist, because it is well beyond our understanding in a sense, but we do know that some parts of it do exist or we can never age and everything would just happen at once.
Time is more of something that is perceived as our humans and is something that is come up with by us and to help us actually be able to have a term and ideology of something is complicated
-
Luke say: Time does exist it's just we have our own interpretation of it
-
I can fly...! say: Its a way of thinking. Things happen. In space. At a rate that gravity and thermodynamic laws allow, in whatever given circumstance.
-
someg say: It depends on you.
-
CarolOklaNola say: Yes time really does exist. You would not be able alive asking this question that because the chemical reactions of your metabolism and the electrical signals of your nervous system CANNOT OCCUR WITHOUT TIME. The Universe is NOT static. The Universe is dynamic . Time is VERY real. Human beings do NOT have to exist for time to exist.
-
Jon say: Although scientists didn't invent it, it's fair to call it a "theory". But so is everything else. The question is, how good a theory is it?
