Do you believe the universe is booming with life?

answers:
Adullah M say: Yes for sure but we do not in which forms they do existed.
-
Thomas say: Well we only have one data point. Here on Earth it appears that microbial life arose quite quickly, but it then took billions of years before larger more complex lifeforms evolved. and hundreds of millions of years more before we did.
So I expect the same from the universe. Microscopic life pretty common, larger scale life pretty rare, and I wouldn't be surprised if we're the only intelligent species in our galaxy.

Zheia say: Klaathu Baradhu Nikthu.
-
quantumclaustrophobe say: I'd bet there's life out there... "Booming" I'm not so sure about.
-
Ronald 7 say: Absence of Proof is not Proof of Absence
Yes
-
Jeffrey K say: There is no way to know. We only have one example of a planet with life.
-
Paula say: No.
We are beginning to see the opposite.
We have identified a few thousand exoplanets ...
and we are yet to find one that is earth-like.
We are using "state of the art" technology in the search.
That is contrary to the science fiction view of 30 years ago which held that planets with intelligent life were very common.
The reality is that there is seems to be no earth-like planet within 50 light years, possibly 100 light years.
Thus life may exist elsewhere in the universe, but the nearest planet with life may be too far away for us to detect it.
-
nineteenthly say: Yes.
-
William say: Nope. It's here but rare enough that detection may be extremely difficult or even impossible.
One story which deserved more attention was the determination that phosphorus is produced only by a certain rare type of supernova. If we are to assume life elsewhere depends on the same elements as life on Earth, this is a major factor and may also indicate life is relatively rare.
-
say: No we are the only life in the whole of the universe I'm god, I already checked.
-
ngc7331 say: yep
-
Poseidon say: The Universe teeming with life?
In my view a resounding YES.
-
poornakumar b say: Not exactly.
-
Stan say: It doesn't matter what I think, the Universe just is what is.
-
sparrow say: No. I don't think it's booming with life. Life is may be out there, but it's spread out too far apart to
be considered to be booming.
-
busterwasmycat say: I wouldn't call it booming, but I believe that there is life elsewhere than earth, and given that there is a heck of a lot of elsewhere, there is a heck of a lot of life even if that life is still rare in terms of the universe. More like tiny stains or imperfections on the vast tableau of reality than "booming".
-
duke_of_urls say: I think the universe is mostly cold vacuum with no life.
However, think there is life on billions of planets in the universe.
-
Jake No Chat say: I do not know about booming, but there is life out there, perhaps way more than many people could even imagine. The universe is huge, there just has to be other life out there, beyond Earth.
-
PhotonX say: Terms. What does 'booming' mean? Does extraterrestrial life exist somewhere else in the Universe? I think so. Not a lot, maybe, but some, because the cosmos is huge. But given that, if you could shrink the Universe down to the size of a house, the portion of it where life as we know it could exist would be the size of a single proton. It's hard to think of life as booming from that point of view, even if it exists everywhere it could.
