If we live on the 3rd planet of the sun, how come we do NOT feel the earth moving? do you know ?

Tom S say: Yes, I do. We cannot feel motion! We can only "feel" change in motion (accelerations). The accelerations associated with the Earth's motions are very subtle and constant. While on a jet in smooth air we cannot feel our airspeed of around 600 mph.

Clive say: Because it is moving at a steady speed and we are moving along with it. Therefore you don't notice anything happening. Same as with anything you travel in on Earth with silent engines on a totally non-bumpy road if you can't see out - there's nothing to tell you if you're moving or not, unless it accelerates or decelerates.

When you are on a Jet Airliner you could be moving at up to 400 miles per hour or more
Yet because you are in it you don't get that sensation
Same in a Car going at 60 mph if you toss a tennis ball up it will still come down straight. though technically it would have arced due to the movement of the car over the road

busterwasmycat say: because we do not actually detect motion, we detect change in motion. The change is essentially 0 (not precisely, but still very small compared to our sensory detection limits).
It would serve no purpose to have that constant motion intruding upon our brain, anyway, so a life form that developed such a sense would tend to be more likely to die out from being distracted by useless info.

Your question gets asked a lot, it has even been a UK primary school (grade school) SAT question - utterly ridiculous imho. But surely it is impossible to answer without knowing what the questioner assumes you SHOULD feel. So one more time, what are you expecting to to feel?
