Why NASA doesn't send a suicide spacecraft to pass thru a black hole? (of course, no humans inside but just to lose the spacecraft)?

answers:
Jeffrey K say: First, the nearest black hole is thousands of light years away. We don't have starships yet.
Second, due to time dilation, it takes an infinite amount of time relative to earth for a ship to reach the event horizon. So what would we learn?
-
Bill say: now lets see
as the nearst black hole is 1000 light years away
that is the number of years multiplied by the speed of light to get the distance that such a craft would have to travel then our sun woud be itself a black hole before any signals were received back here
-
Paula say: NASA would love to do that.
But the nearest known black hole is about 3,300 light years away.
It would take at least 3,300,000 years to go that far
-
Choco say: I'm not even sure they could get that far, and even if they could, why would they? Also, what would they be measuring, surely you wouldn't send an expensive spacecraft on a suicide (even though there's no death) mission.
-
Nyx say: You have zero concept of what all that would take, do you?
10's of thousands of years to get there, a few thousand years for the data to get back, zero means of insuring that the power supply, the electronics, or even humanity can last that long.
-
A.J. say: Nearest black hole is about 3000 light years from here.
The new Parker probe smashed through the old fastest speed of a man-made object and got to 153,454 miles per hour. 670,616,629 mph is the speed of light. If we sent the probe to the black hole, it reaches it in 13 million years.
-
Dr. Manhattan say: The nearest black hole is 3,000 light years away. Do you have any idea how far 3,000 light years is? 1 light year is 6 trillion miles. So if we were to find a way to travel at the speed of light, it would be year 5020 before it got there. Then even if it could send a signal back to earth from a black hole, it would be year 8020. Humans probably wont even be around by that time.
-
Bill-M say: How far away is the closest Black Hole?? How long does it take NASA Fastest Space Craft to go Just ONE light Year?
Answer those two questions and then you will no why they don't.
I will give you a Hint to the Second Question OVER 20,000 years.
-
Nathaniel say: There’s a very good reason and here’s why - money . It’s the root of all evil and people will do anything for it . So yes, they will not go through with it .
-
Norman say: Humans would have evolved into something else by the time it got there.
-
Dylan say: You're cooked.
-
CarolOklaNola say: Because it would take thousands of years to get there and would be destroyed before it went through the event horizon of the black hole. It would be a waste of TIME and money. That money and time be spent on finding cures for mental illnesses like willful ignorance and stupidity and paranoia.
