Poseidon say: Hi George.
As has already been said the answer is yes.
When a probe is launched to the outer planets of the Solar System they often use other planets as 'slingshots' which give them substantial boosts in speed.
The Apollo 13 mission which went horribly wrong flew around the moon and used it as a slingshot to return safely to Earth.

spot a say: Yes , easily. We can also cross the orbit close to the orbiting planet and get a gravitational assist, gaining a "free" speed boost. It is not really free as it slows the planet by a minute amount
-
Roger K say: There have been many probes sent to planets for which they had to cross the orbital path of an intervening planet.
-
Will B say: That would be known as a "Launch Window"

poornakumar b say: Yes.

Bob say: yes, we can use them like a slingshot
-
quantumclaustrophobe say: Sure... as long as there's nothing in the way, it's fine.
-
Acetek say: we send probes to other planets frequently. Most of them cross orbits.

Jamey say: What do you mean? In our system or in exo systems?
-
*/* say: Nope. Are you completely ignorant and uneducated or is it just your dismal home schooling at fault for such a ridiculous question?
