There would be NO difference if and there was NO magnetic north if Earth did not have global magnetic field. That question DOES NOT MAKE SENSE, because it is contradictory and illogical. because your FACTS ARE UNCOORDINATED or twisted, intentionally . Of COURSE magnetic poles have shifted A LOT over time BECAUSE of PLATE TECTONICS and continental drift OVER TIME, but the POLARITY of the magnetic field shifts back and forth as well..

Yes, A a LIQUID magnetic Core accounts for this but YES, materials in Earth's crust DO create regional magnetic fields AND magnetic anomalies. There are magnetic anomalies in BOTH the Bermuda and Dragon Triangles off around Bermuda and off Japan and China Very likely there are con vecition cells in earthouter core AND mantle thera re not alighed with the other convection s sells that more parallesl wit to earth's rotational axis..

Yes, I specialized in geomagnetism and paleomagnetism for the master's of scince in geophysics degree i di NOT get.

You sur e know how to press my "buttons" The n ext time you want information. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH.. You MIGHT LEARN SOMETHING NEW. I should charge you 300 to $ 500 consulting fee for this answer.because I've spent over an HOUR of my time on it. .

The Earth's core spins within the Earth itself; it does not spin on the same axis as the Earth's surface does, nor does it remain 'fixed' with respect to the Earth's surface... So, the magnetic poles do not align with Earth's rotational poles - and, since the outer core is fluid, the inner, solid core 'wanders' - so, our North pole can wander up to 20 miles a year... right now, it's in Ellesmere Island in Northern Canada, and changing positions daily.
