When will we get off this God-forsaken rock!

Do you think we will ever (if we achieved interstellar travel) achieve intergalactic travel?Do you think we will ever pay more attention to space exploration rather than our pointlessEarth lives and everything else slowing down human exploration of the stars? Do you think the Mars One project will succeed and do think it will be able to link in with NASA, ESA and Russian Mars plans into one successful large Martian colony?YOU DONT HAVE TO ANSWER EVERY QUESTION!-Within your lifetime,......
I have many questions and points I would like to make:
Firstly, when will I be able to freely be able to take a holiday to Mars and/or the Moonand/or Europa and/or the poles of Mercury/any other moons?
When will we reach interstellar travel bearing in mind that the nearest one is 4 AU away?
Do you think the 100 Year Starship interstellar plan will succeed?
Do you think we will ever make contact with aliens?
Do you think we will ever (if we achieved interstellar travel) achieve intergalactic travel?

Within your lifetime, you may be able to afford a visit at a space hotel orbiting the Earth for a few days. Or even a trip to the Moon with a couple of orbits and then a trip back.

Next up would probably be a stay on the Moon's surface at a tourist space facility. To me that sounds past our lifetimes. A trip to Mars is many times more difficult which I don't see happening for regular people for a long time and not without a few leaps in technology.

Interstellar travel (to near stars) will also require a leap in technology and is a long ways off. Intergalactic travel would require some method of traveling faster than the speed of light or finding something like a wormhole (actually so would simply covering most of our own galaxy). I can't even imagine when that would ever happen.

Contact with aliens is a crap shoot. The first step is simply to find existence of intelligent alien life likely through the discovery of radio waves they have emitted. Contacting them even after discovering them would still likely take millenia. For example, if we found them 1000 light years away, we could send them a message but wouldn't get a reply back sooner than 2000 years later.
