Moon landing hoax argument

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 12-04-05] [Hit: ]
Scientists universally agree that the Van Allen belts do not pose a deadly threat if you pass through them as quickly as the Apollo astronauts did (a couple of hours).Even Dr. Van Allen himself agrees with this. Why do nonscientists think their evaluation of the hazard is more accurate than that of the scientists who study these things?I guess one could argue, I think the scientists are lying about this.......
* What they interpreted as a "response" was not really a response (i.e. the astronaut started saying something before heaing Mission Control's question).

Regarding the radiation: I don't understand this argument. Scientists universally agree that the Van Allen belts do not pose a deadly threat if you pass through them as quickly as the Apollo astronauts did (a couple of hours). Even Dr. Van Allen himself agrees with this. Why do nonscientists think their evaluation of the hazard is more accurate than that of the scientists who study these things? I guess one could argue, "I think the scientists are lying about this." But that's meaningless unless one can provide a counter argument (i.e. some scientific evidence that the Van Allen belts DO pose a deadly threat). But they never do so.

All of the hoax arguments have been debunked - multiple times, by multiple scientists.

You can find those sites on the web. I bet even NASA has one.

The first one you can debunk yourself by finding out how far the moon is from the Earth and how fast the speed of light is. Then find out how long it would take a radio signal to go from the Earth to the moon.

As for the second one, while the magnetic field of the Earth does protect us from radiation that doesn't mean we can't travel out side of it. Of course if there had been a solar flare or some sort of event, we would have had 3 brave but very dead and crispy astronauts. Yes it was a calculated risk. Then again, that's what explorers do - take risks.

All lunar landings occured when the Moon was near perigee, 230,000 miles roughly. The speed of light is 186,282.3979 miles per second. Clearly 1.5 seconds is a gross over estimate.
Considering 400,000 people worked on Apollo, and the USSR had spy ships off Canaveral and a spy satellite at the Moon, those casting doubts rank with flat Earthers
