Does USA really have higher radiation than Japan right now

By looking at this radiation map, today's radiation level in Tokyo is somewhere around 20, and as for San Francisco, it is 40. Near NYC is 60.

Can this be real? This website isn't official, it is ran by volunteers (Americans) but I see no reason why they would make things up.

If you think this is a mistake and you know the real amount of level of radiation in USA and Japan, could you please provide me a link to the source? Thanks in advance.

EXACTLY which location in the United States are you talking about? Gunnison, Colorado has one of the highest levels in the United States because OF NATURAL reasons and high uranium levels in bed rock. You know what REALLY scares me? THE IGNORANCE and paranoia of the scientifically illiterate who know how use a computer to try to psychologically manipulate people because of their OWN paranoia and fears. THAT's why I despise paranoid trolls and I try to expose them for what they really are to the online community as often as I can. Can you explain WHY you think this site might by lying? I CAN explain it.

I have no reason NOT to think that that web site is presenting accurate information, AND I have graduate level degree in GIS.

This is background radiation as measured at particular points. People contribute to the network by plugging the numbers in from local counters.

"Near NYC" is just someone's counter, and there are lots of reasons this might be higher than Tokyo. Lots of rock on the east coast is granite, with relatively high levels of natural radioactivity. Some areas have higher concentrations of Radon gas, given off by granite, which will make local readings even higher.
