I understand that heat induced sweating leads to water loss which in turn causes hypovolemia.
But how does cutaneous vasodilation lead to hypovolemia?

-
Cutaneous vasodilation leads to a redistribution of blood away from the central pool - it does not change total blood volume. The effect of this, if severe, can lead to a decrease in blood pressure, thereby mimicking hypovolemia.
