At this time, quantum physics states that nothing with mass can travel at the speed of light or faster. Its not a matter of having the technology, its a matter of physical laws.
Recently, time of flight measurements from the CERN-OPERA collaboration have indicated that muon neutrinos may exceed the speed of light, but that has not been verified.
And if it were true, that may require a revision to quantum physics and perhaps it may be possible at some time in the future to be able to travel that fast.
Personally, I doubt it - Einstein's theories have stood up to every test and challenge put to them for a century, its not likely they will be proven wrong.

It is false to believe that "anything is possible". We live in a universe governed by a small number of unbreakable rules. This puts severe limitations on what can be done.
Going faster than light has nothing to do with advancement. Advancement implies technology. Technology can only do what science permits.
Science does not permit faster than light travel.

The speed of light is not a technological problem. In fact, it's not a problem at all; it's simply the way the universe is constructed. We live in the universe, and we have to accept that.
