Denote the magnitudes of stars

-Draw bigger circles to represent brighter stars.stars-you have a very cruel teacher if he/she expects you to draw the entire night sky.the magnitude of the star can be how much light it is giving off compared to the rest. especially since i assume you do not have a billion dollar telescope to estimate the difference in size of all the stars. you will notice some stars are brighter than others those have a higher magnitude of light as perceived by our position.-It means to use big dots for bright stars and small dots for faint stars.......
I've got an assisnment due wednesday where I have to draw a map of the southern sky at night. The directions say to "draw appropriately sized points to denote the magnitudes of stars."
Not to sound stupid but what does that mean? Please Help!!

Draw bigger circles to represent brighter stars. That's basically a layman's
translation of "draw appropriately sized points to denote the magnitude of
stars"

the magnitude of the star can be how much light it is giving off compared to the rest. especially since i assume you do not have a billion dollar telescope to estimate the difference in size of all the stars. you will notice some stars are "brighter" than others those have a higher magnitude of light as perceived by our position.
