Are the sun and the earth connect together magnetically

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-09-02] [Hit: ]
some times the Suns and the Earths magnetic fields DO connect.DO NOT understand what they are talking about. It is NOT just NASA saying this. (I have NOT watched the video, so this is an objective, unbiased post.......
I was watching a video where one of the elenin doomsayers was stating that the earth and the sun's gravity wells aren't perfectly round, but form a trough, and that magnetic fields connect them together via these troughs.

YES, some times the Sun's and the Earth's magnetic fields DO connect. ALL of the other people ARE MISINFORMED and
DO NOT understand what they are talking about. It is NOT just NASA saying this. (I have NOT watched the video, so this is an objective, unbiased post.)

ANY one who claims that NASA AND Science Daily publishes hooey, crap, whatever you choose to call it, IS WRONG.

Doomsayers are really very good at presenting nonsense in a way that sounds scientifically accurate (except to anyone that actually has a science education).

The sun's magnetic field extends out to the outer edges of the solar system, encompassing all the planets. The Earth's magnetic field is very small and doesn't extend even past the moon.

Comets move through the sun's magnetic field when they approach the sun, but did you know that NOT ONE in all of recorded history has ever caused any problems from the "magnetic trough".

Did you read the NASA article he showed? It doesn't say ANYTHING like what he is spouting on the video. And if these brief magnetic portals are so dangerous (the article is from Oct 2008), why has no other comet in recorded history (and they all approach the sun) caused any problems?
Elenin is smaller than most, it appears to be disintegrating as it approaches the sun...

I guess facts just get in the way of the profitable enterprise of fear-mongering.

I guess after it was shown that the planets don't align, that the magnetic field of the Earth won't suddenly "flip", and the Maya calendar will just start the next (14th) baktun on December 22, after the 13th baktun ends on December 21, that they had to try to come up with more hogwash like this.

-
Magnetic fields in space are much shorter-ranged than gravity, which can span the universe. There is no "magnetic connection" between the Earth and the Sun, although their fields interact, of course.

Magnetism and gravity have *nothing* to do with each other.

The technical term for the video you saw is called a "load of hooey".

-
This is crap. Modern science doesn't ignore major information, so any dramatically different ideas about the basic forces of the universe is likely to be garbage.

-
No.
