Could we send someone to a mission into another galaxy

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-08-09] [Hit: ]
Probably a billion years is needed to get to another galaxy! Can you be sure the food wont spoil for that long time? And besides, how big of a stockpile do you need to store food for a billion years? Could it mean that the ship would be so heavy you couldnt launch it off the ground!-Ya,......

Sorry to break the bad news, but it looks like we're limited to our own solar system for now...

You couldn't take along enough food for millions of years! It takes, travelling at our fastest speed, some 60,000 years just to get to the nearest star from the Sun. Hundreds of millions of years would go by before you even got out of the Milky Way. Probably a billion years is needed to get to another galaxy! Can you be sure the food won't spoil for that long time? And besides, how big of a stockpile do you need to store food for a billion years? Could it mean that the ship would be so heavy you couldn't launch it off the ground!

Ya, but not in a normal spacecraft, it has to be too fast (at least thousands times faster). But even if we send, when he returns back to earth would all be dead because several hundred years will be passed on earth. This is a paradox from einstein's special theory of relativity. Due to time dilation he has made time travel. That means if he spends fourty or fifty years on his journey we will spend several hundred years. Of course we can contanct him in radio but our msg will take many years to reach him.him in radio but our msg will take many years to reach him.

We can't even mange to send someone to another PLANET, for Pete's sake! How could we ever send someone to another galaxy. Do you have any idea of the distances involved? Our most distant probe, Voyager I, has barely made it to the edge of the Solar System.

NO.

it takes hundreds of million of years to go to another galaxy.

For that matter. it takes almost 13,000 years to get to the next closest STAR in OUR galaxy (the milky way).

NOBODY human lives that long.

1972 is the last time we were on the moon , other than farting around with space shuttles and telescopes and a condo circling Earth we a in pretty sad shape to even attempt such a thing. So my answer is no.

At present this is not possible but in time we will do this and much more

We can send someone on a mission, but they will surely fail.

-
Most likely
