However, it is likely that many of the world's peoples will not be able to adapt to the swift scientific and resulting social change involved. There will be major human issues to deal with like people cannot even begin to grasp right now. The next 50 years will be a very difficult time for many.

Life will be absotutely f'king wonnerful...unless you're a hominid.
By then, we will have exhausted our antibiotic weapons and plagues will ravish an over-crowded illiterate, water, food and energy starved population. Only the very rich will be insulated from the mobs. AI will rule the planet, slowly extinguishing its main rival for resources - us.

I would guess that unless we find an alternative energy source instead of just digging stuff out of the ground and burning it, it's not going to be much different. I think the thing that is limiting us is the fact that we are so primitive in terms of harnessing energy. We have just about come to the peak of the carbon age, and things aren't going to advance much more until we have more energy at our finger tips to use.

Thanks, Alex, for the heads up on the zombies not being able to take the cold. I'll be long dead in fifty years, but now know to be buried in a coat with scarf and mittens. It's the planning ahead I learned in the Boy Scouts that has made me the success I am today, and in my zombie after life.
