In my state it never snows and only gets cold 2 or 3 months out of the year, i live in a good sized apartment. I hope i can get an energy expert to answer this question as well. My current bill this month is between $90 and $100, and it shouldn't be that high.
When i first moved in, the temperature was set too low, between 70-75 degress, and the ac came on every 15 minutes, which in my opinion is way too many times. Which drove my bill that high, what is the correct temperature to set your ac to, in order for the air conditioner to come on once only ever 30 minutes?
I also heard that during the summer months, you should set it high 78 and above. But i feel that anything below 85, and it comes on every 15 minutes, i'm lost and confused, can someone please help?

There is no true correct answer as everyone lives differently.
With that being said, the ideal temperature setting during the warmer months is anywhere between 75 to 80F. Set it lower than 75 and the A/C will come on more often and use more electricity. Set it higher than 85 and the apartment will get hotter thus making it cool down slower when you decide to lower the A/C temperature.

If you live on the west coast such as CA then if in the southern part LA/OC or any surrounding areas and you have an ac on it is recommended to have it on I believe on 78 or sometimes 80 but thats is only recommended but if you have it on between 70-75 and it is too expensive then i suggest you take their recommendation.

If you don't use a fan or ceiling fan and if you can afford the bill, then 72°F is ideal.
If you use a fan or ceiling fan along with the A/C, 75°F or so will do.
