I was discussing this with my Atheist friend and he seemed very sure that the theory of the Big Bang was cause by the two dimensions collapsing in on themselves thus the enormous amount of energy needed for such an event to happen. I told him that I have faith that God started everything using the tools he had (referring to the dimensions). He told me that faith is stupid and believing in something that can not be proven is ridiculous. I asked him where the dimensions he speaks of came from and he says, they were just there. I then asked if anyone had ever proved that they exist? his response, No but they had to be in order for it to happen I then said, So you have faith that these dimensions exist even though you, and no-one else, has, or ever will have any proof of? he then shrugs and goes on about how he doesn't have faith but that it must be true.
This said I'm wondering your views as an Atheist of where the universe came to be right back to the very start of where everything happened eg. the very start for a Christian is when God started it.
Your lack of faith is what you pride your selves on so please tell me your answer.
Have fun justifying your answer without relying on just a hint of faith.

The best, most simple answer is Nobody knows for sure.

I'm a Christian and I believe that everything we see points to the Big Bang.
When I say what I say next, I don't mean because of what you believe. I mean because of your smugness and your presumption in saying to anyone, "Your lack of faith is what you pride your selves on". There is more to the world and other people's experience of it than what you've seen in your tiny part of it.
Shut up and grow up. If you're under 15, I apologise. Just grow up.

I don't know what the answer to your questions is, I am not all knowing. But isn't it wonderful that we live in a country that people can express there beliefs freely. So whatever your "faith" is the important thing is that you have the freedom to do it.
