there will come a time that sun will no longer be present right? and by that time, there's already no life existing on earth. i just wonder if all living things will still exist even before the sun disappears. if so, what kind of life do you think they'll have? situation of earth?

In about 900 million years, life on land on earth will basically cease to exist due to a greatly diminished ozone layer and heat from a now much hotter sun which will prevent plants from existing on land. If humans can either colonize the ocean or evolve into fish-like beings we'll be safe for another 100 million years until all liquid water on earth evaporates. If humans or their descendants aren't off of earth by then, they will die. The earth itself will exist until the sun swallows the earth as it becomes a red giant. After the red giant phase is over the sun will condense to a white dwarf and eventualy the white dwarf will have burnt all fuel reducing the sun to a small heavy object. Astronomy is a depressing science.

Why do you assume life will no longer exist after millions of years? Our planet has been around for billions of years, and life has continued on, although in cycles and through their own evolution.
It could be likely that if we are still here in millions of years, the earth could be a dump and life will have pretty much about 95% vanished. But even then, there has to be some life whether that be insects or worms, or anything else.
But when the sun eventually does vanish (and we currently assume it'll blink out in a couple billion years or so) life will die on this planet. We won't be here by then.

It completely depends on what happens. We can't even know for sure what's in space that can change our planet. I think, scientifically (religiously I know that we'll be gone before then) but from a scientific standpoint I think Earth will be able to support life until that happens, and they'll either live in a huge desert or another ice age. Cycles of the Earth like to repeat themselves, in the history of the earth there's been more than one ice age, more than one hot periods, etc. Chances are if we make it that far, Earth will have gone through these different stages of development again and for all we know a whole new type of lifeforms may be living here. Maybe Earth will revert itself back to it's natural state before humans caused all this pollution and stuff, or maybe our atmosphere will become highly flammable and the Earth will implode itself.

The Sun is going to gradually expand into a red giant in several billion years, which will not only destroy all life on Earth, but probably the planet itself. This is a well-understood phenomenon in the life cycle of stars like the Sun. By that time the human race or it's descendants will have evolved into forms which do not need this planet to live, or will have become extinct.

I am fairly certain living things need water to live- all living things. If the sun goes away so does the water. I think living things will live on this planet until the sun novas. I think humans will be gone before the nova.
