It does seem wrong, but FYI, the "scream" that they make is actually steam rushing through the shell. If you freeze them first its like anesthetizing them, too.

I feel bad for them because of the WAY they cook them! If the cooks would put them in cool water - which is near the highest temperature they can survive in - then raise the temperature to boiling, they would die peacefully, but dropping them into boiling water while they are still alive? THAT IS ANIMAL CRUELTY!!! I don't eat lobster, but that's not the only reason. At least I am not contributing to the suffering of what many consider a delicious - if expensive - dinner.
It's like if you drop a frog into hot water, it will struggle to get out, but if you put it in cold water then slowly raise the temperature, it will calmly die without a struggle.
