Many flies lay their eggs in feces. The Scathophagidae Family is an obvious case in point: Scathophaga means "shiit eater" so it couldn't be clearer. However, other families such as the Flower Flies (Syrphidae) are nectar and pollen feeders and have no interest in feces.
