1. Depends on the zoo and can also be a factor if they are union or not. I have seen starting wage for an entry level keeper go from $15-$17 an hour. Few others a bit more or bit less.
2. Most places now require a four year degree in a biological science as well as expereince. Experience can be obtained by working during college as a part time or seasonal keeper. Some places will take a two year degree if you have extra experience but most look to the 4 year people first.
