This year I am taking honors chemistry. For the class, we have to do a science project. Personally, I am very interested in free will and the chaos theory. Because of this, I want to do a science project for it. I was thinking about somehow taking silly putty dipping it in paint, and throwing it at a wall. Then I would try to see if I could get the exact same pattern. The reason for this would be that the silly putty represents the body, and that the heredity of a human. While the shape is changed by everything that happens to the silly putty makes its shape and "will" and that shape will define how it flies through the air and how it hits and bounces off of the wall. I haven't really worked it out yet, but I was wondering what you guys thought about it or if you had any ideas. Bailey

If you want to do a project on mathematical chaos, start with looking into / building double pendulums.

Ah, but you see, if you do see a pattern, a trend, then that's not indicative of chaos. That's a major theme of chaos theory, the butterfly effect, we can't really predict what's going to happen because there is no way to model it...it's chaotic.
