Hello guys i want to make my 12v led strip flash to music using the TIP 31C transistor so i came up with a diagram so if you could please confirm if it would work i would make and test it but i have ordered the parts which will take 2-3 weeks to come and i don't want to waste any i also want it to be stereo

The layout diagram is a bit confusing, but having drawn out the circuit diagram for 1 channel it looks OK.
The output should flash the LEDs rapidly for high notes, less rapidly for lower ones, so should appear "brighter" a tad on high notes.
Hopefully you follow instructions as to how many LEDs are connected and how, and DC supply voltage, and presumably the audio output is connected to a headphone jack on the player.
