Well I went in my closet and tried to turn on the light (it's the kind where its just a hanging lightbulb and you pull on a string), and the string thing you use to turn on came off. Now the light is stuck on and i'm not sure how I can turn it off. Is it safe to just unscrew the lightbulb why it's on? Or will that electracute you? Sorry i'm not very smart with stuff like this so please help me :)

Those type switch is very easy get damage after a few hundred pulls. Replace the whole socket and switch together shall do. It carries live power under it and it could harm you by touching them.

The glass of the bulb will not conduct electricity nor is it connected to the conducting metals so it will not shock you; it'll be hot though if you are using the old type of bulbs.

You can unscrew it no problem. It might be hot though. Have an electrician or someone who knows what they're doing fix it.

It is safe to unscrew the bulb. It will be very hot, so use oven mitts from the kitchen. (No kidding. Just make sure that they are dry.)
