A golf ball with mass 45.90 g and diameter 42.60 mm is struck such that it is moving with a speed of 53.47 m/s and rotating at with an angular frequency of 2711 rpm. What is the kinetic energy of the golf ball?

Hi Holmes, the kinetic energy is sum of two
One is linear got by 1/2 m v^2
The other is rotational kinetic energy 1/2 I w^2
Here I = m r^2 /2
and w = 2711 * 2pi/ 60 rad/s
m is given change into kg
dia is given therefrom you can get r. change it into meter
v = 53.47 m/s
