What initial form of energy makes a new form of energy of heat and light by say, a candle?

It depends in how the candle is lit--PE (potential energy) resides in a lot of forms. Let's say you light the candle with a match--well, the chemical on the match contains PE in the form of flame, which is activated by the heat energy generated from friction when the match is swiped on the side of the matchbox. So, of I was going to summarize: PE + E of friction = E of Heat (or, the potential of the PE is being released by friction). Man, I hope that wasn't as convoluted as I think it sounds haha
