Physics Acceleration Question

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 12-03-02] [Hit: ]
final speed is not the same as acceleration.v= 3.0m/s^2 x 1.2 s = 3.......
I actually asked this about an hour ago - then, like an idiot, deleted it by mistake -.-'

Q: A bowling ball is accelerated from rest at 3m/s2 for 1.2. What final speed will it reach?

Is it asking for final acceleration(v), or final speed(m/s-1) - or, are both of these the same?
Any descriptions on how I could do this answer would be really appreciated, thank you!

acceleration is denoted by a and not by v . Acceleration in this problem is given as 3m/s^2,'This is a constant in this problem . Hence there is no question of final or initial acceleration . Always it is 3 m/s^2.

The speed will change with tine. The question is asking about the final speed. and the initial speed is zero.
v = u + at
v = 0 +at

v = 3 *1.2 = 3.6

Final speed is 3.6 m/s

It is asking for the final speed. And, no, final speed is not the same as acceleration.

Answer:

v- u =at

v= 3.0m/s^2 x 1.2 s = 3.6 m/s
