Could someone help me calculate the force of impact of this object

How hard a falling object hits the ground is not a defined physics term; therefore, U must define it using a physics term (quantity).IF U mean what FORCE is exerted by the ground on the falling object, then that is not defined either because that depends on the TIME it takes the object to stop once it hits the ground. The FORCE will be less if the TIME to stop is greater (as with mud) and that FORCE will be greater with ground that is hard. So either the TIME to stop must be known or the maximum DISTANCE object moves into the earth as when making a crater in the earth.......
Im launching a weather balloon with a payload of 1.5 lbs. Im attaching a parachute but i would like to know what would be the worst case scenario (if the parachute fails to open). How hard would it hit the ground if it fell from 100,000 feet?

I'm presuming U mean "how hard would the 1.5 lb payload hit the ground" if the balloon burst and the parachute didn't open and was weightless, right? :>)

Well the definition of "how hard" would have to be given.
The explanation depends on UR understanding of "impulse and momentum"
