Need to make something that holds an egg from cracking when its dropped

i need to make something that can hold an egg and can be dropped but keep the egg safe. i was thinking like a jar with something in it.

The goal here is to decrease the maximum force on the egg when the container collides with the ground. That is, to decrease the amount of deceleration.

If you are allowed to make a parachute, do that. Reducing the velocity is the very best way to reduce the deceleration needed to reach zero velocity.

Otherwise, you need a cushion that will allow the egg to keep moving forwards and slow down gradually after the front of the container hits the ground. The longer the available stopping distance, the better.
The material can be cotton, paper, bubblewrap - anything compressible. It needs to slow the egg just enough that it comes to a stop as it reaches the bottom of the jar. What material depends on how large your jar is allowed to be and how far it has to fall.

Practice a few times from a similar height.

get an old walmart bag and fill it wish cushioney stuff :) like cotton balls or pillowcases and test it out to see if it works :)

I had to do something like that in school. The class had to use straws.

use a 5 gallon bucket and use a bounch of cotton ball and fill it up with cotton balls :D
