Like the phrase nothing can go faster than speed of light. I take it the whole of physics is based around that e= mc2 thing

I doubt the result (It isyet to be confirmed by other observers) and suspect some quantum effect. In any case, the real test will be, can neutrinos be modulated to send information at greater than light speed. If not, i suspect it will join quantum entanglement as a FTL quantum effect that cannot carry information and thus special relativity will remain just barely safe

No they have known the existence of neutrino tachyons for decades just now have they sort of offered proof. It makes zero difference to standard physics or anything else really, we certainly will not \be building time machines

no special relativity still predicts things extremely accurately, just like we still use Newtonian mechanics to predict things even we know it to not be completely true.
