Could you please help me?1. is it possible for one to say that an object moving vertically downward can accelerate less than the value of g or acceleration due to gravity? explain your answer.2. a stone is dropped from a 2-story building said to be 855 ft.......
Here are the questions in our experiment regarding free fall. Could you please help me?
1. is it possible for one to say that an object moving vertically downward can accelerate less than the value of g or acceleration due to gravity? explain your answer.
2. a stone is dropped from a 2-story building said to be 855 ft. from the ground.. how long does it take the stone to reach this height? compute for the rate of the stone's motion upon reaching the ground.

....please help me please!!!

1. Yes. The acceleration can take any value. E.g. in a lift descending.

2.FInd t using 's = (1/2)gt^2' where s = 855ft and g = 32ft/s^2

Find final speed using v= u+gt, where u =0 and t is the value you just calculated.

EDIT

The errors (which can be random and/or systematic) in a free fall experiment are:
-uncertainty in th distance measurement
-uncertainty in start time, t1
- uncertainty in the stop time, t2
(hence uncertainty in the time-of-flight, t2-t1)
- uncertainty in acceleration (e.g if air resistance is significant) and how this affects the results.

and can you please explain it more explicitly the question no.1..please
