I am not looking for personality essentials eg. hard working, interested, never giving up, brave. Can you just tell me what subjects you need to do for GCSE and A-level? I am good at science and maths but i did not do IT to GCSE, can you tell me if you need IT?

I my opinion, in addition to those qualities that you have listed, you need three further things to be a GOOD nuclear physicist
1) An I.Q the size of a planet
2) An I.Q the size of a planet
3) Oh yes. Nearly forgot. An I.Q the size of a planet.
If you have these three things, you are well on your way to winning your Nobel prize.
To be an AVERAGE nuclear physicist, well, you covered the essentials.
Of course, maths and physics must be the primary subjects. However, in this day and age, computer skills are also an essential requirement. Both using and programming them. Many working phyisicists have developed their own programs to simulate various scenarios, and, for theoretical physicists, such skills are vital.
You will have to be able to produce clear and lucid reports, and publish your research, so perhaps, English would be a disctinct advantage.
Nuclear physics requires a range of knowlege that may cross-over with other subjects like cosmology and chemistry for example. Indeed, the cosmologist Steven Hawking used quantum physics and his knowledge of black holes to discover Hawking radiation.
Anyway. Good luck with your studies.
