Clothed people with "props", like eyeglasses or umbrellas, and inanimate "ghosts" (cars, trains) could be explained by Time distortions or "rifts"---backed up by Science, specifically an "Einstein Rosen Bridge"(ERB) that connects two times (or places) in the same place. No "spirits" needed, we are seeing LIVING people in another time. Such an effect would look EXACTLY like such "ghost reports" (and that of the asker). In real life----so it appears ERBs DO happen.

Jake say: Never used to but not to sure now 3 times iv saw black figures and they were as clear as anything iv saw all 3 on the night but they stood out beacuse they wee jet black the first was after my grandad died i was sleeping over at my nans and i was in his room and i woke up in the middle of the night and i had a weird feeling and i looked up at the wardrobe and on top of it was a skinny black figer crouched down it had its 2 hands holding on to the wardrobe and his legs was crouched it ws like the way a dog would stand but anyway it was looking right at me and had 2 glowing eyes i looked at it for about 30 seconds and then put the blanket over my head i was like **** that and i just went to sleep the second i got sleep paralysis i think i was hulusanating i was lying on my bed and i coud see a figure of a man sitting next to my bed on a chair that i allways keep there and the third was not to long ago about a month but i woke up in the middle of the night as soon as i opend my eyes there was someone next to me it was a dark figure but it loolked like it was screaming at me its mouth was wide open and i could see its eyes they were so dark but the first thing i did was take a swing at it i shouted **** off but then it was just gone i jumped up and turnd on the light but there was nothing there so thats all 3 but im not sure what to believe now

Jamey say: When I was a teenager I was at home (parents house) alone, and doing something I shouldn't have been doing. I saw a reflection in the window at the other end of the room which resembled the reflection of someone walking, and I thought it was my dad (There was a similar gait to the walk), so I jumped (because I was being naughty). In fact, the house was still empty. I don't believe it was paranormal or anything though, because as a scientific person I believe that there must be a scientific explanation to it, even if it was a trick of the light, and even if it was some sort of yet to be discovered effect of physics.
