If something isn't deemed probable, the mind quickly dismisses it. This is to prevent the mind from loosing a sense of objectivity and clarity. As complicated as our world is, it could be made to be even more so... Keeping knowledge and belief limited, makes it easier for people to function.
When some one experiences something that truly defies explanation, conventional logic, experience...that person forever is lost between the world of extreme possibilities, and the world others accept and know their selves. There are worlds within our own, worlds that have been observed, that we don't truly phantom, understand, worlds in which ours' is built upon.
We take comfort in our reassurance of what reality is, and accept it, until we're challenged, and forced to consider alternative perspectives, philosophies and open ourselves to extreme possibilities. It's not that such possibilities do not exist, it's that we're limited in our preconceived notions of what reality is, which is not even preconceived notions of our own, but what we're asked to believe.
"If we fail to anticipate the unforeseen or expect the unexpected in a universe of infinite possibilities, we may find ourselves at the mercy of anyone or anything that cannot be programmed, categorized or easily referenced." Chris Carter
I wish my life had been as simple as many of yours', that I could have been more grounded, but on more than one occasion, for me everything changed.

Jon say: No.
Features such as digital displays and lasers started to be reported by alleged abductees only after they became widely know on Earth: supposed abductees from the 1960's reported being held in spaceships with analogue dials, those from the 1990's reported LCD digital displays. Quite implausible.
