I'm staying in a house that is 80 years old soon. In one specific room I feel a heavy, oppressive energy and always like someone is standing behind me. Am I just nuts or does anyone else ever experience this kind of thing?

It might just be that the room is stuffy or dark or otherwise less cheery than the other rooms. Energy is a scientific term and would be misapplied here.

Depending on the electrical wiring of the house in that room and if the switch box is in there, it could be high electromagnetic fields (EMFs). Basically you can have those feelings you just described plus headaches or nausea. So you could be sensitive to the EMF level in that room.
