zeno say: It's a case by case situation. Get more than
Fifty pounds over weight and you will get
Heart problems and joint issues. Smoke
Over a pack of cigarettes a day and the
Full effects may not appear for a few decades
But eventually your lungs just stop working
And you will feel weak and tired and out of
Breath after a very tiny bit of exercise. Johnny
Carson used to jump off his bots into the
Ocean and swim but one day he jumped in
And was out of breath in less than a minute.
He died a few after this of cancer or lung
Problems. The effects are slow and gradual
But they accumulate and destroy the lungs
Completely.

William say: Both are crappy ways to die . Obesity is a slow death . You develop problems with your legs , hips , back breathing , general health . You smell because you cant clean yourself properly . You can't go for a simple walk down the street .. Smoking is also crappy . Many smokers develop COPD ,Asthma , Various other respiratory problems . Cancer is usually fatal within a few months You have just enough time to make a Will and funeral arrangements . Your question is basically like asking How do You want to die ? A bullet in the Head or a bullet in the Heart ? Either way You are dead .

Anne Arkey say: According to the National Institutes of Health, obesity and overweight together are the second leading cause of preventable death in the United States, close behind tobacco use. An estimated 300,000 deaths per year (vs. smoking at 450,000) are due to the obesity epidemic. However, while smokers allegedly live 10 years less than nonsmokers, overweight people die 15-20 years earlier than normal weight people. Roughly 30 percent of overweight people have the Type 2 diabetes, and 85 percent of diabetics are overweight.
