I'm 16 and the doctors gave me some sedatives but i still felt the same. When they put the camera in, i was whimpering and eventually nearly screaming because of the intense pain and eventually they stopped. I was wheeled to recovery where they said i was running a fever but said i should be fine, they told me to get dressed straightaway checked my blood pressure then discharged me straight away after colonoscopy. I was talking in broken sentences so it could have worked mildly however i was probably speaking like that because of the pain. Is this normal because i'm going back for an upper GI endoscopy in a month?

This happened to me too :( I had a upper camera sedation through canalar - you feel it but nowhere near as u would if fully conscious it's only conscious sedation your just not fully aware of what's happening hope you ok xx

This is NOT normal. You should fall FAST asleep, and feel nothing until they try to make you fart in the recovery room.
But if the amount of anesthetic was misjudged, then you COULD have been partially awake during the exam.
