I know about ssri's and medication but is there a pill made of just seretonin? I think there should be, and if not why?

The best you can find is 5-HTP, which is the precursor to serotonin synthesis. You can't take serotonin orally because it won't be able to get into your brain. 5-HTP can cross the blood-brain barrier though, and once it's there, it will get made into serotonin. This is a pretty cheap over the counter drug.
Edit: There's no brand name for the drug itself; it's usually available as just "5-HTP" in the supplement aisle. I'm not sure how well it works for anxiety, but many people have reported feeling a better mood after taking it. Even though it's available over the counter, I highly recommend you talk to a doctor before trying to self-medicate.

An SSRI works by allowing the brain to retain more of its own seratonin. To introduce extra seratonin could lead to a potentially very quickly fatal condition called seratonin syndrome. This is an extremely rare side effect of SSRIs, but it would be much more common if extra seratonin was given.
