Yes, I used a female plastic surgeon when one of my children had a severe laceration on his face when a playmate closed a metal gate while playing in yet another playmates backyard. She was the board certified plastic surgeon recommended by the ER and on call for that day. However, picking ones plastic surgeon by their sex is probably the least intelligent way of selecting someone. They should be a board certified plastic surgeon. They should have some years of experience. People you know should have recommended them favorably. When you meet and speak to your physician about this, you should feel that they understand and listen to you. Best wishes.
