hematologist, OB/GYN, Pediatrician, which one gives me a flexible schedule (or atleast normal, no irregular hours or random call ins at 2 am, or atleast not too many) and pays well too?......
I'm considering becoming a doctor but I really would love to have a family and I want to spend time with my kids and be able to take them to their baseball game or ballet recital and be there for them but I also want to have a job that pays well and I can enjoy. I was thinking about becoming a radiologist, radiation oncologist , hematologist, OB/GYN, Pediatrician, which one gives me a flexible schedule (or atleast normal, no irregular hours or random call ins at 2 am, or atleast not too many) and pays well too?

Your name is Brianna so I'm assuming your female which makes this harder which is unfair but that's how society is. If you want to be a doctor my advice to you is to be careful who you marry. Some men think their career is always going to be more important than their wife's. Some men think that the wife should always be the primary caregiver of the children and they'll count on you whenever the kids need something instead of doing it themselves. Your career goals are something you should discuss before having a family with any prospective partner. Whatever you do, if you really want to be a doctor don't roll over and give up your dreams to stay at home with kids when you have them just because your husband or society is pressuring you to. You can definitely be any kind of doctor you want and a have a family too, you just have to really really want it, be persistent and make sure your husband/partner is 100% supportive and willing to do his fair share.

Sure we do. It's called "Honey, be sure to pick up the kids after soccer (baseball, tennis, swimming, piano) practice." Then we mow the lawn.

Seriously, most doctors practice in groups nowadays, sharing evening and weekend call, allowing for family time. The one year I was in solo practice I played just nine holes of golf, and took my wife to one movie half of which I spent in the lobby on the pay phone. Remember those?

Yes, of course they do. If they want one, that is. I know some doctors who make work their entire life and it seems like they never leave the office, but that is by choice.
