ARE prime number odd number?

-------------------------------------------------------

answers:
peevee say: All prime numbers except 2 are odd. All odd numbers are not prime. No even number except 2 is prime.
-
owen say: All prime numbers are odd except for 2 (don't forget, 1 isn't prime)
-
Fazaldin A say: Yes. All the prime number HAVE to be odd number.
-
Samwise say: All but one of the prime numbers are odd. The exception is 2, which is a prime number and even.

But that's because the definition of odd numbers is whole numbers not divisible by 2.

If we had a similar special word for numbers not divisible by 3, we'd see the same thing:
all of the primes would be whatever-we-called-numbers-not-divisible...
except for 3, which is a prime.
-
Johnathan say: Not all of them. There is one prime number that is even...2.
-
D.W. say: 2 is the only even prime number. Every other prime number is odd.
-
Como say: 2 is a prime number and is even.
-
Jeffrey K say: All prime numbers are odd except for the number 2.
If a number is even, it is divisible by 2, so it is not prime.
-
Jim Moor say: 2 is the only even Prime number.

A second part to the definition of Primes is that they cannot be divided by another Prime.

So 2 is the one and only EVEN Prime. All the rest are 'odd'.
-
No Name say: Yes, because all even numbers are divisible by 2. But you should know that all odd numbers are not prime and 2 is the only even prime number.
-
say: Yes
-
Michael say: all except for the number 2
-
Ashakul say: Except two
-
Krishnamurthy say: 2 is the only even prime number.
-
Deepak Suwalka say: Yes!

Because all odd numbers are not divisible by 2 and also prime numbers are not divisible 2 so, we can say that prime numbers are odd numbers other than 2.

2 is the only even prime number.
