say: The maths is easy. But the teaching of it requires:
- an understanding of how to teach the material and make it interesting
- how to motivate enthusiam for maths
- how to help someone struggling with maths
- how to help someone talented with maths
There are plenty of capable mathematicians who do not make good teachers of maths.

Al say: Not difficult, but usually the teacher's guides and internet can get anyone through on the fine points if needed.

runningman022003 say: I'm not saying it can't be done, but ask yourself: if you are an adult that does not understand 7th grade math, do you really have the passion and understanding of the subject to eventually teach it?

david say: When I was in 6/7 grades it was mostly the same stuff as 5th grade.
... More work with fractions .. fractions that were a little harder than 5th, but same stuff. Adding bigger numbers, (and subtracting, multiplying and dividing) ... 5th grade was most 2 digit numbers ... 6th and 7th used 3 digit, 4 digits and 5 digits.
... More word problems, but still pretty easy.
