If they are different u add em.

Diff add
They are same so we subtract
7x+4y=39 - 2x+4y=14
7x-2x=5x
4y-4y=0
39-14=25
5x = 25
Divide both sides by 5 to get X by itself
X=5
Now enter x=5 into one of the equations

35+4y=39
Take away 35 on each side
4y=4
Divide both sides by 4 to get Y by itself
Y=1

X=5 and Y=1
